About the Role
As the Specialist Contracts, you will play a vital role in Engineering and Explosives Contracting within the Contracts team managing multi-site contracts across WAIO and providing subject matter expertise to Contract Owners.
- Conduct Field Leadership with Contracting Partners and Contract Owners and provide coaching while building/maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.
- Ensuring contract compliance with the requirements of the BHP ‘Our Requirement for Contractor Management.
- Provide contract reports and reporting capabilities to business functions and vendors to assist with monitoring & delivery of business information.
- Provides contract technical expertise and support for continuous improvement and coordinate change management.
- Ensure effective governance of the Contract Owner Portfolio, ensuring a productive output and strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Monitor performance of work under contract at all levels in line with contracted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Escalate contractual issues to relevant stakeholders and coordinate the facilitation and resolution of issues.
- Verification of all requirements under ‘Our Requirement for Contractor Management’ through regular audits.
- Manage Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activity for allocated suppliers for the WAIO Site Engineering Panel, including monthly and quarterly contract review meetings.
- Assist in scheduling and tracking of Explosive Contracts logistics requirements, including for bulk Ammonium Nitrate (AN), AN Emulsion and Explosives Accessories delivered to BHP WAIO Pilbara Sites.
- Develop and refine communication processes between Contracting partners and Site personnel.
- Reducing costs around delivery delay issues and demurrage.
Work Location
This role will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi-award-winning office tower - ‘City Square’ where you will have stunning river views from our modern open plan office, state of the art facilities including virtual whiteboards and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues.
In this permanent full-time role, you will be working Monday – Friday and offers flexible work arrangements. Occasional site travel is required as necessary.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated work experience with contract law or contract management.
- Tertiary qualification in Procurement/Engineering/Business/Law or similar experience
- Mining experience is required, and experience with Dangerous Good will be advantageous.
- Exceptional engagement and collaboration skills in managing stakeholder relationships.
- Interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational management skills.
- Proficient in the MS Office Suite of products.
