About the Role
The Senior Condition Monitoring Technician will Coordinate the full scope of condition monitoring for primarily vibration, oil and thermography across Tarong Power Station on all critical and non-critical plant. Lead and coordinate investigations on anticipated and known problem areas, identify the root cause, and develop corrective actions for implementation.
The primary focus of the Maintenance Support team is to provide technical support across the site in response to business operating priorities. This technical support is required to cover areas and issues relating to plant safety, reliability and availability ensuring the integrity of all of Tarong’s assets, as well as day-to-day operations and maintenance support. This includes plant outages and the provision of engineering services relating to the development, planning and execution of site projects.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain a strong link between Plant Engineers, Superintendents, Process Areas Officers and Operators to provide technical recourses, advice and support as required.
- Deliver substantial savings to the company through early detection of impending failure of critical and non critical plant and prediction of timelines to failure to inform the work planning process;
- Implement new technologies in condition monitoring to the existing portfolio to meet existing and future business requirements;
- Lead and coach Tarong Staff to develop skills and expertise of the team within and external to Engineering Services.
- Maintain an awareness of overall plant priorities and operational requirements.
- Ensure work activities are compliant and the potential for any deviation from scope or activity is effectively accessed and communicated.
This is a permanent full-time role based at our Tarong Power Station in Nanango, Queensland that offers an attractive base roster (4 days) around a 36.25 hour week.
About You
- Associate degree or equivalent trade training in either mechanical or electrical disciplines.
- Accreditation in Vibration Analysis to Category II
- Extensive Technical/Trade knowledge and maintenance experience of power station plant (or other heavy industry), operations and processes.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in power generation or heavy process type industry.
- Excellent teamwork and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work and have teams meet deadlines.
- Well developed communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
- Computer skills in numerous software applications including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Access and Excel, plus the ability to quickly attain knowledge in Mincom Ellipse, TRIM, PI and Business Objects.
- Ability to quickly attain a high level of knowledge of RCM, PMO, Condition Monitoring, RCA, Life Cycle Costing and Reliability Engineering.
