THE ROLE
Maintaining our social licence for land access is critical to IGO’s continued exploration programs. Ensuring we understand and protect the cultural heritage values on the land in which we explore is an important part of IGO’s goal to Make a Difference.
We are seeking an experienced Land Access & Heritage Coordinator t o join our highly skilled team of Exploration team, reporting to the HSEC & Logistics Manager. You will be responsible for facilitating cultural heritage and land access requirements across our large exploration project portfolio. This role is integral for coordinating all aspects of heritage surveys and will be the principal liaison between IGO staff, Native Title Prescribed Body Corporates and Traditional Owners at the operational level.
Whilst providing support to Exploration Project Managers and Field support personnel with other land holder engagements for land access, primary accountabilities will include:
- Coordinating all heritage surveys for exploration activities;
- Liaising between IGO personnel, Heritage Officers and Traditional Owners to ensure effective survey completion;
- Providing guidance and oversight on Aboriginal heritage management activities conducted on exploration tenements;
- Act as both advisor and mentor to exploration Indigenous employees and promote a culturally sensitive workplace;
- Ensuring heritage reports are received and submitted to GIS Managers for capture of sites and other important information in our spatial datasets;
- Reviewing and supporting heritage management practices and document development; and
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with local communities around exploration tenements.

YOUR EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will be collaborative, approachable, and adaptable. This is a fast-paced role that will satisfy a suitably experienced and qualified individual with the following:
- Significant experience working in a similar role, ideally within the exploration field;
- Demonstrated Business acumen with proven negotiation skills;
- Tertiary qualifications in anthropology/archaeology or similar field (desirable);
- People person with strong communication skills (including verbal and written) who can engage and build relationships;
- Highly organised with the ability to regularly problem solve;
- Proficient computer software skills including Microsoft office and GIS;
- Current ‘C’ Class Manual Driver’s Licence;
- Current First Aid certificate (desirable);
- National Police Clearance obtained within the last 3 months; and
- Compliance with Covid-19 vaccination requirements.
