About the Role
The Control Room Specialist safely and competently operates monitors, and reviews operations on a shift-by-shift basis to achieve safety and production targets.
This is done by adhering to operating requirements and striving for the achievement of individual, team, and site objectives as directed.
We currently have vacancies for Refinery, Smelter, AP/FP, and Hydromet.
In this role you will:
- Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day.
- Assist Shift Supervisor by monitoring the performance of equipment and tasks to ensure productivity is safely maximised.
- Operate the relevant plant in a safe manner from the Control Room using Citect.
- Monitor and improve plant throughput and processes, via communications with Production Technicians and by use of Citect and other Business systems.
- Establish collaborative working relationships within the work team and other departments
- Ensure effective exchange of information at shift changeover
- Identify and engage with other teams, to ensure maximum utilisation of time and resources
- Embracing process safety methodology for the operation of the assets through the review and development of processes and procedures.
- Demonstrate initiative in situations where sufficient process knowledge/competency exists and use of escalation procedure when faced with unfamiliar issues
- Train other specialists and technicians, utilising the control room training framework.
- Develop skills in Plant Operation across multiple areas.
- Use SAP to enter maintenance notifications, and maintain adequate consumable supplies, as well as for entering and investigating incidents as required.
- Contribute to and support the Shift Supervisor’s decisions and communicate these to team members.
About You
As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable, and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’.
- Experience using control systems including or similar to CITECT / SCADA, and OSI PI.
- Ability to work effectively within the Olympic Dam operations and functional teams.
- Collaborative and able to communicate across multiple levels and disciplines.
- Ability to interpret critical information and make decisions.
- Enthusiast to learn new skills and accept challenges.
- Good computer literacy with the ability to use SAP to enter maintenance notifications, order consumables, and incident investigations.
Location
In this full-time permanent role, you will have an option eitherRoxby Downs residential based or FIFO from Adelaide. You will be working on a 7-day shift, 7 days off, 7-night shift, and 7 days off roster.
