The Opportunity
We are building a specialist Community Engagement team to support Transgrid’s existing operations and a number of significant new infrastructure projects as part of the energy industry’s transformation and transition to renewable energy generation.
We seek 3 Team Leaders to report into the Community Engagement Manager with strong leadership and community stakeholder and engagement skills to join our team. As team leaders you will lead a team of experts and enable team members to excel.
Community Engagement Operations Team Leader
As the Community Engagement Operations Team Leader you will lead a team of community engagement specialists to deliver industry leading community engagement practices within the operations environment. You will be responsible for ensuring that Trangrid’s operations and maintenance activities, including routine maintenance programs, new infrastructure and infrastructure augmentation projects, are supported with appropriate community and stakeholder engagement plans and activities. You will also be responsible for managing easement development enquiries, applications and encroachments.
The Community Engagement Operations Team Leader will lead the strategic planning and oversight to successfully engage with community stakeholders and landowners to enable on-time project delivery and build Transgrid social licence to operate across communities in NSW in urban and regional environments. You are a community engagement subject matter expert, practiced in planning, executing and providing strategic advice and direction on community and stakeholder engagement objectives, processes and issues resolution. You are experienced in lineal infrastructure You will play a key role in ensuring that Trangsrid’s standard practices and procedures are fit-for-purpose, implemented with a high degree of consistency and that the business has a strong understanding of its engagement positioning, risks and emerging issues.
Engagement Management Office Team Leader
As Engagement Management Office Team Leader you will lead a team of community engagement specialists to support Transgrid implement industry leading community engagement practices across a range of major infrastructure delivery projects. Your team will provide critical enablement, governance and reporting functions to ensure that on-ground engagement teams are positioned to successfully engage with community stakeholders and landowners to enable on-time project delivery and build Transgrid social licence to operate within these communities. You are a community engagement subject matter expert, practiced in planning, executing and providing strategic advice and direction on community and stakeholder engagement objectives, processes and issues resolution. You will play a key role in ensuring that Trangsrid’s standard practices and procedures are fit-for-purpose, implemented across all operating environment with a high degree of consistency and that the business has a strong understanding of its strategic engagement positioning, risks and emerging issues. You will be a critical thinker and an effective influencer that can foresee community engagement risks and assist on-ground teams to develop and implement corrective actions.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement – Lumea Business Partner
As Community & Stakeholder Engagement – Lumea Business Partner you will be a senior community engagement specialist that will support Transgrid’s commercial delivery arm, Lumea, bid and win contestable projects on the basis of industry leading community engagement practices and provide strategic implementation oversight during project delivery, in line with customer expectations. You will be responsible for ensuring that project based engagement teams are positioned to successfully engage with community stakeholders and landowners to enable on-time project delivery and build our customers’ social licence to operate within these communities.
You are a community engagement subject matter expert, practiced in planning, executing and providing strategic advice and direction on community and stakeholder engagement objectives, processes and issues resolution. You will play a key role in ensuring that Lumea’s practices and procedures are fit-for-purpose, implemented with a high degree of compliance and that the business, and its customers, have a strong understanding of its engagement positioning, risks and emerging issues.
Skills & Experience
What we expect from you:
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations or in a related area with relevant work experience
- Extensive community engagement and social performance experience, ideally within lineal infrastructure industries or alternatively within the resources sector, energy industry or equivalent
- Proven ability to lead teams to achieve results and meet strict deadlines
- Knowledge of community impact management and mitigation methodologies, relevant to linear infrastructure or large new infrastructure construction programs
- Deep understanding of current and emerging leading practices to embed community engagement principles in project planning and deliver.
- Ability to work with and influence infrastructure delivery project teams
- Ability to work on high profile and sensitive community issues
- Ability to implement effective public relations or media strategies and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to deal effectively with senior stakeholder groups, including political representatives and state and local government officials
- Excellent track record of achievement
- Hold a current Australian drivers licence
Desirable
- Awareness and understanding of contemporary corporate communication practices
- General knowledge of the electricity supply industry and Trangrid’s roles and responsibilities.
- Accreditation in IAP2 practices
