About the Role
Reporting to Superintendent Exploration, you will join a committed team that is motivated to deliver the next ore deposit to Nickel West. The role of Senior Geologist is team oriented with accountabilities including geological data collection, QAQC, drill hole tracking, lab liaison, target generation and geological modelling. This opportunity provides the chance to develop your exploration skills in the Agnew-Wiluna Belt - a world class nickel-sulphide province that is highly prospective. The role is located at Leinster on a FIFO basis or residential and forms part of a growing Exploration team.
Responsible for the following:
- Supervise the team in the safe execution of exploration activities, including data acquisition
- Responsible for delivery of live models that feed back into the Exploration Targeting workflow
- Training, mentoring and coaching Geologists in geochemistry, modelling workflows, mapping, project management and delivery
- Responsible for the end-to-end tracking of exploration data for your projects, aligned to the business priorities
- Track and monitor the annual budget for your projects and be responsible for project spend decisions and validation of project invoices for your projects
- Good quality, regular field leadership
- Follow up on actions related to HSEC incidents
- Drill hole designs and DHIS, UG drill planning, proposals, IMDEX and acQuire
- PoW submissions as required
- EHIA submissions as required
- Reporting of exploration activities in the form of daily, weekly and monthly reports.
About You
- An overriding commitment to health, safety environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
- Bachelor of Science majoring in geology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team oriented environment
- Exposure to 3D software and modelling processes, in particular Leapfrog Geo
- Exposure to ArcGIS and acQuire highly regarded
- A full current manual driver’s license
