About the Role
We are seeking forward thinking and talented individuals to join the Minerals Australia Project (MAP) Engineering Team in Specialist / Principal / Lead Project Engineer roles across the Portfolio of Western Australia Asset Projects (WAAP) and Western Australia Major Projects (WAMP).
This is an exciting opportunity to join the newly established MAP Engineering team and work with a range of internal and external stakeholders to drive engineering effectiveness and contribute to optimised project outcomes.
Reporting to the Area Lead Engineering, this role will offer the opportunity for exposure and influence to all phases of the project lifecycle, including execution. The Project Engineer will be responsible for the successful definition and management of engineering design and serve as a conduit between the project and Engineering Service Provider (ESP) to drive performance.
In this role, continuity of support will be provided across development and delivery phases through the management, development and review of engineering deliverables, performance management of the ESP, support of engineering management of change and integration of the design into execution and handover. As part of the Technical Function you will work closely with Quality, Commissioning and Operational Readiness to provide overall technical support to the project portfolio.

In these roles you will:
- Develop the engineering framing documents (User Requirements, Basis of Design, Scope of Works, Engineering Strategy / Plan).
- Manage the ESP to ensure delivery of on time and fit for purpose engineering solutions and documentation.
- Support the Development effort through ESP management, technical clarification, change management and design reviews.
- Support the definition and completion of Engineering Scope Optimisation and Value Engineering activities to deliver increased project value, reduced cost and optimised schedule.
- Participate in framing / risk / value optimisation workshops.
- Lead the Design Review, HAZID, HAZOP and Sustainability in Design (SiD) workshops.
- Manage and coordinates ESP drawings / deliverables including internal design reviews.
- Facilitate the technical transition between Development and Delivery teams.
- Support the Delivery effort through technical clarification, change management and in field quality control oversight.
- Provide input/advice in the management of a project, project area or specific contract/s to ensure it is being delivered safely, and to the approved quality, time and cost targets.
- Implement the project quality plan, review and approval of contractors ITP’s.
- Support system commissioning activities.
- Ensure engineering documentation is completed and formally handed over to operations.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business.

About You
You will have tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a trade qualification with previous experience working within a project environment and influencing internal and external stakeholders. You will be an effective problem solver and possess good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to think in both a divergent and convergent manner and possess an understanding of business value.
