Our High Growth & Emerging Corporate (HGEC) team provides fully integrated financial solutions and risk management for customers with Business Lending and Business Deposits. This team use their industry and specialist expertise together with an advisory approach to deliver a high quality, consistent customer experience to support customers across a diverse range of industries including retail, wholesale, manufacturing, industrial and e-commerce.
As Associate Director, you will pro-actively manage customer relationships and meet their needs by providing solutions through the most cost effective and appropriate channels. Your banking experience will enable you to take responsibility for full portfolio management via penetration of existing customers, acquisition of new customers and expense management.
What will my role look like?
- Personally, develop and manage a portfolio of key HGEC clients.
- Identify new business and referral opportunities & establish, develop and utilise networks of internal and external contacts to aid achievement of income targets.
- Assess economic value and risk potential of new business.
- Maintain and enhance the credit risk profile and profitability of the portfolio.
- Consult to both the broader Busines &Private Bank business and Corporate & Institutional Banking team to assist with for the smooth transitioning of HGEC clients.
- Sales - Implement specific local competitive and aggressive sales/ income campaigns and initiatives & sell and promote tailored Bank products and services within Bank parameters.
- Develop and improve professional excellence through management of individual and team’s performance.
- Implement annual business plans for the customer portfolio allocated.
- Support the Deal Structuring & Execution team in the preparation of business lending proposals outside own authorities with full justification for recommendations, including obtaining and analysing industry and business information.
- Lead and coach any indirect reports.
To be successful in the role, you will possess:
You are likely to be a highly experienced Corporate/Business banker with a business-related degree and/or post-graduate professional qualification (generally CA, PY, ACCA, MBA, CIB). Strong experience within business banking and/or credit assessment is desirable. In particular, experience in relation to the specific segment of operation with a comprehensive understanding of business/ commercial practices, BFS products and services, with a significant emphasis on sales, lending, credit assessment and control experience. Proven relationship management/customer facing experience is essential.
