About the role:
Reporting to the Future Fuels HSSEQ Manager this is a great opportunity to be a senior member of the Fuels Gas Desulfurisation (FFGD) Project HSSEQ team. You will be working on a complex major capital project and responsible for delivery of successful HSSEQ Management outcomes, governance and compliance for the overall project.
The role will have up to 10 direct reports and be working at the Lytton Refinery near Brisbane.
Please note this is not a fly-in, fly-out role.
Key responsibilities:
- Closely support the Project HSSEQ Manager to plan, develop and implement project HSSEQ Management Systems, including interface and assurance plans
- Align project Management Systems to ensure project HSSEQ deliverables are met throughout all project phases
- Assist the Project HSSEQ Manager to deliver project HSSEQ goals including developing project culture and implementing a project behavioural based (Incident & Injury Free) program
- Support and input into Regulatory & Planning submissions as required
- Work closely with project teams to align, integrate and develop HSSEQ in the field with Operations, Contractor & Turnaround teams
- Help develop and support achievement of project HSSEQ KPIs
- Resolve problems and issues as escalated
- Assist to manage performance of project HSSEQ teams
- Ensure direct reports have role clarity and HSSEQ accountability is clearly understood and implemented across all Project activities.
About you:
You are an experienced HSSEQ professional with significant previous experience supervising project HSSEQ Teams, managing contractors and developing project HSSEQ Management Systems.
You have previously worked within large complex multifaceted projects and a major hazard facility environment. You thrive as a people leader and bring proven success with your people management skills as well as working with key stakeholders both internal and external to deliver required HSSEQ outcomes.
Key skills and experience:
- Demonstrated HSSEQ Management experience in large & complex hydrocarbon projects throughout all phases (preferably in the refining or oil & gas industry)
- Demonstrated previous experience driving and delivering successful client-side project HSSEQ Management in comprehensive contracting environments including greenfield and brownfield
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Detailed knowledge of risk engineering, hazard identification and risk management
- Exceptional people management and organisational skills
- Experience in IR & contractor management in an Australian environment
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to apply innovative thinking.
