The Natural Resources and Energy team is part of Global Client Solutions which sits within CBA's Institutional Banking and Markets Division. The business provides relationship management as well as capital solutions, risk management and transaction banking to a diverse portfolio of ASX listed mining, oil & gas and commodity trader clients.
Your impact and contribution
As a Senior Associate you will be joining a high performing team and supporting Senior Bankers across all aspects of client management and deal related activity including maintaining senior relationships with clients and prospects, insightful idea generation, structuring and executing financing transactions, transactional due diligence, financial modelling and loan documentation. You will also play a role in the maintenance of the integrity and accuracy of client data and overall portfolio hygiene.
Do work that matters:
- Working as part of a deal team over the lifecycle of transactions to support origination of new business and deliver efficient transaction execution through timely and accurate credit approvals, documentation, recording of data and establishment and maintenance of in-life maintenance processes.
- Preparing credit papers for new transaction, annual and ad-hoc credit reviews and providing analytical credit and industry related support in preparation of credit applications for new transactions. Preparing and reviewing detailed ESG assessments of clients and transactions.
- Liaising with product partners, credit risk and other stakeholders as required
- Providing support to Bankers in servicing the needs of our clients including for complex transactions, operational requirements and day-to-day enquiries across the client lifecycle
- Analysing evolving sector trends and regulatory developments in order to accurately assess risks.
- Performing portfolio monitoring activities such as KYC, breach management and other reporting and liaise with credit risk where required.
We're interested in hearing from people who have:
- A genuine interest in the natural resources sector. Some sector experience / knowledge would be viewed favourably
- Tertiary qualifications in finance, law, engineering or business related discipline
- Possess a solid understanding of risk management and credit risk issues and have demonstrable financial modelling, research and analytical skills
- The ability to grasp complex structured transactions and analyse the benefits of the idea for specific client circumstances
- Prior experience in institutional banking will be highly regarded as will experience in a Graduate program at a major bank.
