A fantastic opportunity at nbn, Australia’s largest infrastructure project, as the Integration Engineer, reporting to the Manager DWDM, where you will join the DWDM Integration team, a key pillar within the Networks, Engineering and Security (NES) business unit.
A bit about your role
As the Integration Engineer, you are responsible for network configuration management of all active elements, commissioning and testing. This will give you the opportunity to work across Transit DWDM network, core aggregation network, access networks covering HFC, FTTN/B/P/C, Enterprise Ethernet, Fixed Wireless and Satellite, Site Environmental Management network, NCN Management network, SCN network, and all associated OSS platforms.
This role will require you to perform end-to-end trouble shooting across the network while performing network integrations tasks, core network migrations, end of life equipment management, network cutovers, capacity growth and network add, moves and changes (active augmentations) accountability for the successful handover defect free to Network Operations Team.
Afterhours work will be required to cover network migrations & network augmentations that are both business impacting & customer impacting, this could either be on a rolling shift roster or as scheduled night works based on the business needs and the program you are working on at the time.
A bit about you
The successful candidate will bring a strong background in Telecommunication focused on DWDM and experience in implementing configuration augmentation, migration processes, a deep understanding of IT OSS systems, tools used to manage the network, and a good understanding of Element Management Systems for DWDM, Routing & Switching, GPON fibre access, and FTTN/C VDSL access network technologies as well as Infinera TNMS EM. Programming skills such as SQL, Python would be valuable.
Moreover, you work well under pressure across a multi-technology mix including Transit, Access Networks, SEM, Aggregation & management Networks, and OSS platforms, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. You have a strong ability to define, prioritise and organise tasks to meet deadlines, are self-motivated, and collaborative.
