Utilita is a Joint Venture between Downer and Ventia, delivering maintenance services our client Urban Utilities. Our delivery area covers Brisbane, Ipswich, Somerset, Lockyer Valley and Scenic Rim council areas.
Downer is currently recruiting for an Electrical Supervisor to join the Utilita team on a permanent basis with significant experience in providing day to day supervision of Electrical & Instrumentation activities and ensuring works are completed to an appropriate standard, within cost and time parameters.
THE ROLE
- Support the maintenance planner to schedule resources, plant and equipment, travel, and materials in allocated work areas.
- Ensuring client, community, statutory & organisational requirements are met, across all aspects of the work.
- Spending time on site with our work crews, troubleshooting and providing coaching and promoting a culture of improvement by encouraging feedback on how we can deliver work better.
- Engaging regularly with client representatives to ensure our strong collaborative relationship continues.
- Partnering with our SHEQ TEAM, to ensure pro-active strategies are in place to reduce risk and protect people.
- Ensure works delivery is carried out inline with contract KPI’s and business objectives.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of work crews including all site activities as well as standard administrative tasks e.g.: timesheets, scoping documents, safety processes, etc.
- Management of specialist service contractors including High Voltage, Hazardous Areas, and Control Systems.
ABOUT YOU
- Qualified Electrical trade license is essential.
- Cert III Instrumentation is desirable, Cert IV Instrumentation required.
- Water Industry experience highly regarded.
- Experience in High Voltage Switching Operations is highly regarded.
- A focus on improvement and finding ways to do things differently.
- An ambition to lead people, with a focus on coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Understanding of works planning process, set-up and execution of work in a high-volume maintenance delivery environment.
- Demonstrated organisational skills, and a high level of computer literacy
- Proven ability to lead work teams across multiple disciplines.
- Financial awareness specifically with procurement of materials and the engagement of services.
