About the Role
As an important member of the underground mining team and reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Longhole Driller is responsible for undertaking all production hole drilling, to ensure targets are reached in a safe and efficient manner.
About You
Duties include design setups, accuracy in drilling, operation of equipment and operator maintenance in accordance with BHP’s operating standards. An important element to this role will be to build key relationships with Drill & Blast Engineers and Charge Up personnel.
Key responsibilities will include
- Underground production drilling experience essential
- Sandvik DL431-7C and DL-420-15C production drill experience will be highly regarded
- Proficient in the interpretation and understanding of Longhole Drill layouts
- Laser and inclinometer Drill setup experience
- Good understanding of Drill Plans, with skill and precision ensuring holes are drilled to design line, gradient and profile
- Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge of Longhole Drilling equipment as well as knowledge of charging techniques for production blast holes
- Detailed knowledge of maintenance procedures and safe equipment cleaning practices
- Must have current manual C class WA driver's license
