What is the role about
Reporting to the Head of Cyber/Information Security & Privacy Risk, and positioned within our Resilience Risk department, you will be required to provide effective 2nd line risk oversight (reviewing & challenging 1st line management), generate subject matter insights and provide specialist advice, ultimately ensuring that Cyber/Infosec risk is effectively managed and compliance with relevant obligations are maintained.
This role is ideally suited for an experienced / senior management level candidate with several years’ experience in reviewing and advising on Cyber/Information Security practices and controls. To be successful in this role, you must be self-driven, inquisitive, adaptable, energetic/positive, and resilient. You must also be able to work in a complex and sometimes ambiguous environment.
You will work collaboratively across a variety of teams within Risk and Line 1 to ensure the strong and effective management of cyber/infosec risk, including
- Ensuring that NAB’s risk management strategy and operational risk management framework are applied effectively in the context of cyber/infosec risk
- Performing a variety of risk and control assessments and deep dive reviews, and agreeing practical solutions to remediate
- Ensuring issues are known and holding Line 1 to account for resolution in a timely manner
- Ensuring that compliance with cyber-related obligations is actively monitored and maintained, i.e. policy, legislation, and regulation
- Providing input to relevant frameworks, policies, standards, and establishment of risk metrics
- Providing and ensuring effective cyber/infosec monitoring and risk reporting
- Relationship building across aligned business units and ensuring cyber/infosec risks are appropriately understood and reflected in risk profiles.
Skills and experience required
The right candidate will have extensive experience in cyber/infosec related roles within banking/financial services or Big 4 consulting. Certifications in CRISC, CISM, and CISSP will be highly regarded.
Applicants will also be expected to have:
- IT Audit / Consulting experience (Big 4 preferred)
- Deep understanding of risk and controls, with technical skills across cyber/infosec security frameworks and practices
- Exceptional analytical capability and self-driven learning capability
- Excellent report writing, data presentation is essential
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, and in some instances up to GM level
- Tertiary or post graduate qualifications in IT/Computer Science/Information Security
