About the Role
As the Manager Maintenance at BHP’s Nickel West Kwinana Refinery, you will provide inspirational leadership and strategic support to a team of maintenance professional. You will collaborate with our expert groups from across the BHP business to ultimately drive business improvement.
You will utilise your ability to deliver successful transformational change to the department which will facilitate your team to achieve a new level of success for quality delivery of maintenance execution activities
This role will be based at our Kwinana site.
In this role you will:
- Plan, schedule, execute and review maintenance work orders and activities to maximise efficient production
- Prepare for and executes maintenance activities, carries out post execution tasks and eliminates defects to facilitate reliable and efficient maintenance operations
- Define shutdown objectives, scope and schedules, mobiles shutdown resources, and executes shutdown activities to safeguard production and maintain the safety of maintenance operations
- Determine the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems
- Translate corporate objectives into actionable plans, communicating, managing and analysing the implementation of those plans to facilitate the delivery of our strategy
- Drive business improvement through the measurement of BHP's performance
- Strive to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste
- Drive collaboration across Nickel West and functions to achieve corporate objectives
Engages with MECOE (Maintenance Engineering Centre of Excellence)
Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes
About You
- Engineering Degree qualified with deep understanding of engineering and maintenance strategies and requirements
- Deep foundational and influential leadership of teams where you drive change and create a positive high-performance, safe-to-speak culture
- High level communication and influencing skills, including the ability to produce quality, concise reports and presentations to senior executives
- Demonstrated technical and commercial acumen with advanced problem-solving skills
- Highly influential with strong engagement skills to generate ideas and lateral solutions
- Ability to lead a team of maintenance and operational professionals to deliver high quality, relevant outcomes
- A true change-champion with demonstrated transformational outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to balance tactical deliverables with a strategic outlook
- Experience working with a range of stakeholders in complex environments and have accomplished change on a global scale
- Mining industry, Oil and Gas, heavy industry, processing or maintenance exposure is advantageous
- Leading by example; hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in “Safety Leadership”
