The Merchandise team at Coles plays a critical role and pride themselves on building sustainable long term supplier relationships, developing new range offers and ideas, and working on convenient, healthy solutions.

About the role
As the Head of Commercial Strategy you will support the Business Unit General Manager of Grocery with the development and communication of the short and long-term strategy for the Business Unit.
What you’ll be doing
You will lead the execution of multiple Business Unit strategic projects concurrently across key commercial strategic areas and leverage Enterprise Strategic initiatives, this role is accountable for driving these areas within the largest Business Unit.
You’ll also:
- Manage key stakeholder relationships.
- Scope and design programs of work.
- Lead the implementation of recommendations.
- Analyse existing/potential issues.
Good things you’ll need
- Bachelor’s degree Qualification in Commerce/Business, Finance, Economics, or similar.
- Demonstrated strategic capability, specifically strategy development and leadership.
- Demonstrated project and/or program management experience managing successful programs and large-scale business transformations.
- Demonstrated experience working successfully with senior management to deploy initiatives aligned to business objectives.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience applying this to interpret industry dynamics and competitive retail landscapes.
- Change management experience is preferred.
