About the role
An experienced Lawyer in litigation and dispute resolution to support and advise the various businesses within Woolworths Group in relation to commercial and other disputes.
You will be working directly with the ‘Group Counsel - Disputes’ in our Legal Services Group.
The disputes include ongoing commercial litigation, class action defences, property litigation, Administrative Tribunal disputes in each Australian jurisdiction.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will provide legal support, advise and management of a variety of legal matters across the Woolworths Group. You will have specific areas of responsibility, working collaboratively with lawyers across other teams, sharing your knowledge and insights and managing a range of matters to optimise commercial outcomes.
The role is nominally based at the head office at Bella Vista but is flexible in nature working from various locations, including Woolworths offices in Surry Hills and the other state capitals. Some interstate travel is required on occasion.
Specifically, you will need to:

provide practical advice to stakeholders across Woolworths on all aspects of their disputes

work in collaboration with broader legal team to provide seamless legal advice and support in relation to disputes

understand our business activities with a view to providing proactive legal support
About you

deally, 7+ PQE legal experience in a litigation or disputes role in private practice (or inhouse) and qualified to practice law in Australia

Experience working for or in an FMCG inhouse legal environment highly valued

Proven experience to build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders

Strong understanding of our business

Strong negotiations and presentation skills
