Come and be a part of this success.As a member of the Project Contracts and Procurement Supply sub-function for Minerals Australia you will be responsible for working collaboratively to plan, implement and manage procurement activities and contracts according to the approved strategy with an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.The Project Contracts and Procurement Asset Projects team requires a diligent contracts and procurement professional to be the focal point between its team and Category Management, Logistics and Inventory and Warehousing. A core focus of this role will be driving world class sourcing and procurement for the Assets Projects team, with an emphasis on strategic sourcing and expediting for projects.Ad hoc site travel may be required from time to time as the project teams require.Key accountabilities:
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
- Supports the PC&P Specialists, Principals and Asset Projects team in providing procurement expertise, mentoring and guidance.
- Understands the similarities and differences of various project delivery models (e.g. EPC; EPCM and Owners Team Managed), and the allocation of risks through the selection of the most effective sourcing model for the procurement of goods and services.
- Utilises historical and future project portfolio and category management data to contribute to the development procurement and logistics plans to preserve project schedule and budget.
- Understands local market conditions to meet individual project and portfolio requirements.
- Ensures that market engagement is planned and executed to meet the project schedule, quality and cost objectives.
- Co-ordinates the drafting of high quality request for price, request for proposal, request for tender and contract documents.
- Provides contract management (including contract administration) support to the project teams throughout the contract life-cycle for procurement activities.
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders to become a highly valued contract expert, trusted with commercial support, to lead negotiations with vendors and provide on-going contract management.
- Participates in Supplier Relationship Management as it applies to the relevant category, while working collaboratively with projects and cross functional stakeholders.
- Maintains contract data in SAP systems and other contract management systems as required.
- Understands and implements principles and methods of dispute avoidance and resolution.
- Varies contracts as required including updating or expanding scopes of services and schedules of materials.
- Ensures local government and federal government legislation is well understood, and abided by.
Ideally, you will hold a tertiary qualification (procurement, engineering, business, law are preferred) or similar with experience within the mining and mineral resources industry, along with 5-10 years’ experience in a procurement role.You will have the opportunity to utilise your advanced engagement and collaboration skills in managing stakeholder relationships. Likewise, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and a high standard of oral and written communication skills.You will also possess the following:

- Pragmatic commercial outlook and exemplary judgement (balances business value vs. risk) to deliver best outcome for Minerals Australia;
- Demonstrated experience with contract law, contract negotiations and drafting and contract management;
- Proven ability to operate effectively in complex and ambiguous environment;
- Ability to think laterally to independently resolve issues and influence change;
- Autonomous, detail oriented, organised, and objective;
- Proficient in the MS Office Suite of products, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project;
- SAP experience and experience in a mature Contract Management System (CMS) is preferred.
