Mine Surveyor – Dawson Mine
Reporting to the Registered Mine Surveyor, you will be primarily responsible for a host of field-based duties including survey pickups using Isite, GPS and theodolite equipment, data reduction, survey peg-outs and machine control, and end-of-month volumetric calculations. You will be an active team-player in the Technical Services Department and will work closely with the Mining Operations Departments to provide accurate survey data to Dawson Mine. Communication skills are paramount to successful candidates. You will also be involved with geotechnical scans (high density) and working together for proactive safety initiatives in the mining pits. A focus on continuous improvement in process would be an advantage.
To be successful in this role, you will have tertiary qualifications in Surveying as well as field experience in open cut mining operations, preferably coal. You will have a strong commitment to health, safety and environment standards as well as strong planning, technical knowledge and interpersonal skills. Exposure to Autocad, Minescape, Deswick, Leica GNSS Equipment, Total Station, Maptek Laser Scanners, or other mining software will be highly regarded as would experience with UAV technology. Your high level of strategic thinking, planning and problem solving as well as your demonstrated commitment to best practice processes will be key to your success in this role.

This a an 8 On / 6 Off Roster; on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract with subsidised Camp Accommodation.
