The Site Engineer will provide direct engineering and technical support to the construction team that will contribute to the successful delivery of the Project. The Site Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all work activities related to their scope are planned, coordinated and executed in accordance with the Project's Engineering, Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures. The Site Engineer will also assist in the development and review of procedures and work practices with the aim to create efficiencies and improve processes where practicable.

  • Attend and contribute to pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, hand over meetings and construction-related meetings as required
  • Participate on site walks with supervision and peers to confirm daily work plans
  • Ensure that all permits and approvals have been obtained in advance prior to works commencing
  • Ensure dockets are collected, collated and processed in the relevant cost registers with correct cost coding
  • Accurately record and track costs related to plant, materials and labour to produce monthly accruals and orders for planned works as required
  • Assist in the preparation, monitoring and documentation of Construction Work Method Statements, Inspections & Test Plans, SWMS and Site Plans
  • Assist in the preparation of daily meetings, weekly reports, 3-week lookahead programs, etc. as required
  • Ensure that the program is communicated and understood by all relevant personnel, including environmental and community teams.
  • Monitor the progress and quality of works by conducting inspections, taking photos, and reporting back to the Project Engineer & Senior Project Engineer as necessary
  • Actively undertake formal and informal daily inspections of the work area and remove, rectify, or report any hazards as necessary
  • Ensure daily shift reports and site diaries are completed and inputted in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensure that all purchase requisitions and invoices are raised and processed in a timely manner
  • Participate in the tender process by arranging design drawings, developing appropriate construction methodologies and providing an estimation of quantities including materials and labour resources as required
  • Manage the procurement and timely delivery of construction materials
  • Resolve site issues as they arise, ensuring to consult with the Project Engineer and/or Senior Project Engineer as necessary
  • Ensure that all lots are opened and closed promptly, as per the Project QA Procedure
  • Assist with the preparation and completion of Quality Checklists
  • Ensure that all RFIs and NCRs are raised and resolved efficiently
  • Ensure that any identified defects are resolved promptly
  • Monitor the performance of workforce, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers, to ensure that works are completed in accordance with the target program, Project procedures, permits and contractual requirements

Skills and expericne we are looking for:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (or similar) (Essential)
  • General Construction Induction (White Card) (Essential)
  • 2+ years' experience in a site-based construction role (Essential)
  • Experience working on a mega-construction Project (Desirable)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attitude and awareness towards safety in the workplace
  • Highly developed Microsoft Office Suite skills
