Acciona Infrastructure is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager for our operations in South Australia. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project, ensuring it meets established time frames and budgets. This role includes the management of the construction component of the project, and staff oversight, and may involve supporting the submission of relevant tenders across the business.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:
    • Utilize communication systems to keep direct reports and their teams informed and up to date, including setting Context & Purpose.
    • Implement safe work methods using systems and procedures defined in the Safety Management Plan for employees and subcontractors in the Construction Team.
    • Optimize project resources (plant, labor, material, subcontractors) for the Construction Team.
    • Ensure all planning and decision-making are made within a 'best for project' framework based on the Project framework.
    • Develop Construction Teams' plans to recognize and reflect the Construction Critical Path.
    • Review monthly costs and forecasts with direct reports and report to the Executive Director.
    • Monitor performance against plans and take timely action to adjust for variances and contingencies.
    • Collaborate with the Procurement Team to maximize cost-effectiveness across the project.
    • Ensure the Construction Team's compliance with management systems, processes, corporate, statutory, and legislative requirements, with significant emphasis on Safety and Environment.


  • Traffic Management:
    • Analyse deviations in project stages to determine traffic circulation adjustments for continued project execution.
    • Provide traffic guidance systems and coordinate temporary traffic changes with appropriate authorities.
    • Manage and optimize traffic controllers to maximize resources by existing legal norms.
    • Review all traffic equipment and materials, including signs and protections, to ensure compliance with current regulations.
    • Forecast and budget for all traffic-related expenses during project execution.
    • Conduct daily inspections, including weekends, to verify the proper placement of traffic signs and materials.
    • Ensure timely delivery of traffic engineering components within allocated budgets.
    • Maintain technical standards and ensure compliance throughout the project.
    • Cultivate relationships with clients, contractors, local government, developers, and key stakeholders to source external traffic engineering work.
    • Develop methodologies and cost estimates to meet client requirements effectively.
    • Ensure health, safety, and welfare at work for all employees under your direction.
    • Report hazards or safety concerns promptly to supervisors or OH&S representatives.


Experience/Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Extensive construction experience on road construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in traffic management on large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience in team management and motivation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good contacts within the industry sector and the ability to attract a construction team.
  • On-the-job training and practical working exposure to Acciona's principles of construction project management and specialist technologies.
