We are now seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team, accountable to the Finance Manager, you will be an active and integral member of the Finance team, which will provide you with the opportunity to work for one of the world’s leading gold mining organisations.

This position is required to assist in providing a comprehensive range of financial and management accounting services to the Australian region. The duties will be centred on the preparation of the region’s monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes.

This is a permanent position working within the Finance team based in the Perth Regional Office (with travel to our WA based mine sites when required).

The main accountabilities will include contributing to:

  • Period-end reporting, including use of SAP, HFM and TM1, and quarterly deliverables to corporate head office
  • Preparation of key files and submitting data in HFM
  • Assisting with regional SOX requirements
  • Assisting with auditor requirements
  • Forecasting and budgeting
  • Capital reporting
  • FBT return preparation
  • Trial Balance reconciliations


About You

  • A degree or working towards a qualification in accounting/commerce
  • Commenced or intending to commence CA/CPA studies
  • Relevant experience an advantage
  • Intermediate level MS Excel skills
  • Full permanent working rights in Australia (Mandatory)

You need to be a good team member, have good interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work under tight time pressure. Your high attention to detail is essential.
