We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Team Lead Commercial Operations to join us in our Market Services team in Brisbane, QLD on a Permanent Full Time Contract.

Reporting to the Commercial Operations Manager, you will play a key role in providing leadership to a rostered team of Commercial Operations Analysts, ensuring accurate gas scheduling and allocation, regulatory compliance, customer engagement, optimisation of APA’s assets, and protection of APA’s interests and revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a rostered team of Commercial Operations Analysts (COAs) to ensure high performance and collaboration.
  • Oversee gas transportation agreements, ensuring accurate scheduling, allocation, and compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Identify and leverage short-term commercial opportunities to maximise APA’s operational capabilities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align asset activities with commercial objectives and contractual commitments.
  • Represent APA in customer interactions, delivering exceptional service and resolving issues effectively.
  • Drive team development through recruitment, training, performance reviews, and succession planning.
  • Support business improvement initiatives and manage operational risks to protect APA’s revenue and reputation.

Your background

  • Proven experience in leading, coaching, and developing teams to excel in complex environments.
  • Strong knowledge of gas transportation agreements, regulatory compliance, hydrocarbon accounting, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Energy Components (EC) experience (highly regarded)
  • Commitment to managing customer expectations while safeguarding APA’s commercial interests.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, fostering team success and stakeholder engagement
  • Availability to work a rotating roster (potential for M-F with roster relief also available)
