The Role

We are seeking experienced Mining Supervisor to provide leadership to a multi-disciplined team of contractors and Aurelia employees across production drilling, stope prepping and charging, raise bore slot drilling, diamond drilling, crushing and hoisting, road maintenance and project work.

Reporting to Aurelia’s Mine Superintendent, you will also carry statutory obligations to make sure all work under your control is conducted safely, productively and in compliance with all applicable legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance to Mines Regulations in NSW by providing statutory supervision of production drilling, stope charging, raisebore slot drilling, road maintenance, civil/project work, diamond drilling and crushing/hoisting activities
  • Manage mine dewatering, drainers, sumps and strainers
  • Ensure decline roadway conditions are maintained in a safe and productive state
  • Provide effective handover to cross-shift supervisor and Mining Superintendent regarding production activities and safety updates
  • Clearly communicate safety information and briefings to the mining crews
  • Completion of safety lead indicators including Planned Task Observations, Workplace Inspections, Critical Control Checks and Safe Act Observations
  • Develop and communicate shift plans that are consistent with the requirements of the weekly plan and supervise operational delivery to plan
  • Contribute to the development of the weekly plan by providing timely and accurate information to the Mining Superintendent and Mine Planning Engineers on the status of key activities
  • Play a key role on the mine production team in identifying and implementing production improvement initiatives.

About You

  • Current NSW Metalliferous Underground Mine Supervisor Certificate of Competence/Practising Certificate
  • Current C class drivers licence
  • Security clearance
  • Previous mining industry experience, including proven experience as a shift supervisor
  • Strong safety focus and commitment to providing visible safety leadership
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
