The Role

We have an amazing opportunity for a trade qualified Fixed-Plant Electrician to provide support to the mill processing plant, specifically responsible for carrying out preventative and breakdown electrical works across the surface area of Mine in a safe and efficient manner.

Candidates who possess knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), with experience in automation systems and plant electrical operations will be highly regarded.

Preferably we will provide relocation support up to the amount of $10,000 to the beautiful town of Cobar in New South Wales or DIDO if you live within 800km radius of the work location.

Roster: 7/7 (Day shift)

Location: Peak Mine - Cobar NSW

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety compliance for yourself and others
  • Perform electrical maintenance on fixed plant and related infrastructure
  • Coordinate and execute breakdown maintenance
  • Complete statutory and non-statutory electrical checks
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Plant teams to optimise equipment
  • Adhere to electrical safety standards and regulations
  • Manage electrical purchasing and inventory
  • Mentor apprentices and provide end-user training
  • Effectively utilise resources to support team goals
  • Contribute to a positive and high-performing team culture

About You

  • Trade Certificate III in Electrotechnology or equivalent
  • Current NSW Electrical Licence or able to obtain one
  • Experience working within a similar role & environment
  • Current First Aid/CPR and Low Voltage Rescue certifications
  • Current Working at Heights
  • Strong fault finding & diagnostic skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proactive approach and ability to problem solve
  • Ability to read electrical drawings
  • A valid, unrestricted ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
  • A positive attitude that matches our values

Desirable

  • High voltage switching ticket
  • Confined Space ticket
  • Exposure to CMMS software PRONTO
  • PLC experience (highly regarded)
  • Instrumentation and control systems Experience
