In this role as a Drawing Management Lead, you will develop and deliver roadmaps for engineering and asset management digital systems and applications in collaboration with the rest of the Ausnet business as agreed with the Manager, Engineering Systems.

With a Hybrid split Office / WFH, this role can be based in Southbank and is part of the Engineering Systems team.

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Act as a business owner representative for engineering systems including Drawings Management, as agreed with the Manager, Engineering Systems.
  • Develop and maintain functional roadmaps for engineering applications that meet the needs of all lines of business as agreed with the Manager, Engineering Systems.
  • Collaborate with Digital to deliver these applications for use across the business.
  • Drive consistency and consolidation of engineering applications to provide cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate with the engineering and asset management stakeholders to prioritise and align requirements and sign-off approach.
  • Lead the discussion to champion application capabilities to improve awareness across the business.
  • Establish, maintain and own consistent Drawing Management system frameworks.
  • Prepare submissions and justifications to secure funding for new applications or changes/upgrades to existing applications as agreed with the Manager, Engineering Systems.
  • Establish quality assurance processes and procedures to maintain the governance and standards of distribution, transmission and gas assets. Lead and implement document quality control measures to be applied by lines of business to monitor asset quality and identify areas for improvement in line with industry standards.
  • Contribute to development of strategy and workforce planning with regards to Drawing Management function, providing recommendations based on SME that have enterprise-implications.

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Subject matter expertise in drawing management functions.
  • Experience working with an Objective Drawings Management System is preferred but not essential.
  • Proven experience in similar technical environment, specifically in utilities industry.
  • Asset management software, data analytics tools, and digital solutions for risk assessment, and quality management experience within the industry is preferred.
  • Leads engineering and asset management requirements in an energy industry context, including services such as Before You Dig Australia.
  • Understanding systems design and architecture.
  • Ability to lead and influence change in a dynamic environment.
  • Complex problem-solving skills – ability to lead and manage situations requiring thinking outside of ‘standard’ process or practice.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to connect with organisational strategy and identify what is required at a tactical level to achieve it.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and drive results in the dynamic environment of the industry.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
