About the opportunity

The Senior Manager of Project Assurance is responsible for management and facilitation of Program and Project Delivery Assurance across the Portfolio. We are seeking a proactive problem-solver who will be resolving project challenges before they escalate, while offering trusted advisory support to the project management community. You will have the decision-making authority to provide input into prioritisation and sequencing decisions for enterprise business initiatives – trade off speed, risk, and reward.

Reporting directly into the Head Of Enterprise Delivery CoE, you will provide guidance to project managers and teams to enhance their commercial acumen and strategic thinking capabilities. This position ensures delivery confidence through independent assurance of project feasibility and health, fostering a culture of excellence and risk mitigation. The Senior Manager of Project Assurance leads a small team of individual contributors. This requires you to ensure the team has the information, skills and experience to flourish in their jobs. This role will be interfacing with Business stakeholders and executives, as well as technical counterparts, translating between the two.

You’ll also

  • Develop, document, and implement a robust project delivery assurance framework and methodologies to maximise project delivery success
  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance for projects and programs to ensure alignment of project objectives with organisational goals
  • Conduct thorough assessments of project feasibility, risk, and viability to optimise resource allocation and mitigate potential commercial impacts on a discrete number of high-value Post projects
  • Operate as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights on strategic project investments and resource allocation
  • Monitor and analyse project reporting to proactively identify and recommend projects that may require a delivery assurance health assessment
  • Lead strategic initiatives by driving organisational change to support commercial growth, competitiveness, and sustainability


About you

You can build effective relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, project teams, and external partners. This is crucial as this role involves influencing senior leaders across the Project/Program delivery enterprise. You will utilise your excellent communication skills to convey complex concepts and drive alignment around project objectives and strategies. The Senior Manager of Project Assurance works closely with all relevant delivery stakeholder teams up to the Executive General Manager level, as well as engaging with external vendors as required. We are seeing someone who understands business issues on a Project / Program delivery enterprise-wide basis.

You’ll also need

  • Experience successfully managing complex projects from initiation to completion, with a focus on delivering outcomes aligned with commercial objectives
  • Extensive background in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, with a demonstrated ability to drive project success and mitigate risks
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify and assess commercial implications of project decisions and outcomes
  • Experience developing, implementing,and running, project assurance frameworks and methodologies to maximise delivery success and mitigate commercial risk
  • Experience leading project managers and teams, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of Lean, Agile, Scaled Agile Framework and traditional delivery methodologies
