We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Software Delivery Manager within our Maritime Australia line of business. This position is preferred to be based in Adelaide, however we will also consider other locations - Melbourne, Sydney or Canberra. Hybrid working and access to 9 day fortnight full time working arrangements are on offer.

Your new role:
Reporting to Program Manager Innovation Translation, you will provide technical leadership, guidance and mentoring to the Innovation project team.
You will be responsible for developing solutions for various use cases and ensuring good governance throughout the process.

More specifically, you will

  • Lead the application of DevSecOps and Agile practices to all Innovation programs of work to promote change, collaboration and rapid delivery
  • Identify and manage risks and issues related to the delivery and take corrective action as required
  • Champion use of better practice Software Engineering processes and methods across the Innovation team projects, and ensure better practice is shared with the broader company
  • Manage and track execution of Software Engineering activities with respect to Cost, Quality and Schedule requirements
  • Ensure company software engineering processes are tailored to meet needs and constraints of Innovation project without sacrificing better engineering practices
  • Lead and manage Identification and resolution of issues associated with the execution of Software Engineering activities across the relevant scope of work
  • Lead collection and analysis of relevant technical performance measures to ensure accurate tracking of technical maturity of Innovation software products
  • Provide support to resolve relevant problems identified during the conduct of software development, integration and test

About you:
As an applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:

  • Ability to train and mentor software engineers through superior team building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute and work in a cross-function team while ensuring specific responsibilities are achieved
  • Excellent knowledge of Software Engineering process, procedures and the overall engineering product lifecycle
  • Significant experience working in DevSecOps enviornment with frequent exposure to cyber security concerns
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Demonstrated good communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees and customers at all levels
  • Proven ability to function confidently within a multi discipline project team environment
  • Demonstrated good problem solving skills
  • Ability to partner with and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to obtain the necessary deliverables
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations

Formal engineering qualifications and demonstrable experience in at least one Engineering Discipline, e.g. Computer Science, Software Engineering etc. is preferred. Demonstrable experience DevSecOps and agile is required. A background in cyber security is highly desirable.

Clearances:
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
