About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a new opportunity for an Avionics Workshop Maintenance Engineer to join the Hawk Lead-In Fighter team based in Williamtown, NSW. Leading the way for a 5th generation air force, the Hawk Lead-In Fighter provides state-of-the-art fast jet training capability. You'll work as part of this capability, responsible for inspecting and undertaking fault diagnosis of avionic systems and components within the workshop for the Aircraft, reporting the Avionics Workshop Team Lead.

Key responsibilities include:

  • System Maintenance: Remove, inspect, and install specific systems and components following approved procedures.
  • Diagnostic Expertise: Conduct fault diagnosis and system testing.
  • Component Repair: Perform necessary repairs and modifications.
  • Thorough Reporting: Report defects, deficiencies, errors, and unserviceable items comprehensively.
  • Certification: Obtain timely certification for completed work.
  • Quality Control: Implement quality control measures and report non-conformance.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain workshop equipment per technical guidelines.
  • Accurate Documentation: Document engineering advice, defects, deficiencies, and updates.
  • Procedural Adherence: Follow local business operating manuals, procedures, and policies.
  • Authorization: Conduct and sign off on authorized tasks.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate within your authorized scope.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure data compliance, tool control, and environmental assessments while maintaining a clean workspace and following procedural compliance, including shift handovers.

About YOU

  • Prior experience with Avionics Maintenance or experience as an Electronics Technician ideally within the Aviation Industry.
  • Knowledge of Defence Aircraft Safety Regulations (DASR) pertaining to Continuing Airworthiness (desirable)
  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics) or equivalent
  • Strong focus on maintenance procedures and processes
  • Understanding of how aircraft are operated and flown, including flight safety and airworthiness considerations
  • Identify problems in a timely manner and develop practical solutions to fault diagnoses and maintenance problems
