About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to work on the upgrade of Royal Australian Navy ships, in a program of national importance, with construction in Adelaide (Osborne Naval Shipyard). This program is critical to maintaining Australia's maritime capability over the next decade.
This fast paced, agile and innovative work includes key capability upgrades such as combat systems and missiles, as well as platform systems upgrades and key sustainment activities.
As the Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of electrical systems and equipment in accordance with contractual and company requirements to achieve the required business performance.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
While full-time work and Osborne as a location are preferred, we're open to discussing interstate, hybrid, or part-time arrangements to find a fit that suits both you and our team's needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and manage requirements for electrical systems and equipment.
  • Manage the engineering toolsets to support the upgrade activity.
  • Contribute to requirements reviews.
  • Review and support the delivery of designs that meet project needs.
  • Translate designs into manufactural products, making improvements as needed.
  • Guide manufacturing with strong engineering oversight, and knowledge about the product design information.
  • Lead integration and validation, supporting plans and reports.
  • Ensure safety and regulatory compliance at every stage.
  • Identify and resolve challenges collaboratively.

About YOU

  • Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience within the Electrical engineering discipline
  • Microsoft office tools experience as a minimum
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate individuals and teams and foster a ‘One Team' approach.
  • Proven ability to problem solve to deliver objectives. This includes managing interfaces and interdependencies; and developing and executing plans in a timely way.
  • A focus on always improving, with the ability to identify dependencies, risks, and opportunities.
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
