About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Training Specialist to join the Maritime IM&T Training team. This is a fixed term role for 6 months and we are flexible with the location.
You will be responsible for assisting the IM&T functional Project Managers within the Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) Program with the role out of digital applications by identifying and building applicable learning environments specific to the IM&T scope of work. The TS is expected to develop a range of materials and execute training in a strategic manner that best supports the business and project timelines.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Work under the direction of the IM&T Training Lead, and DCE project managers
  • Apply principles of instructional design to build blended digital training materials, including engaging online eLearning content for digital technology
  • Undertake facilitation / delivery of internal training activities as required.
  • Capture accurate records of training delivery and assist with preparing records as required to support training governance
  • Support DCE and IM&T group to help meet contractual training obligations.
  • Work closely with project stakeholders to develop a training strategy and plan in alignment with the project.

About YOU

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, large-scale defence environment
  • Ability to manage own time around the needs of a time sensitive project
  • Experience working with ADDIE methodology is considered desirable
  • Innovation that complements ‘the way we do things'
  • Comfortable with the prospect of some travel interstate for the purpose of supporting IM&T training initiatives;
  • Well developed and practical communication skills
  • Prior experience working within project management environments is desirable
  • Relevant academic training/educational qualification(s) is desirable
  • Experience using Captivate, Articulate 360 (or similar), SharePoint, Windchill and Kanban boards is highly desirable;
  • Familiarity with using Learning Management Systems to manage content
  • You consider yourself to be strategic, inclusive and collaborative
