About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Technical Author Team Lead to join our Hunter Class Frigate program (HCFP) on a permanent full-time basis. This position can be offered in Melbourne, VIC or Adelaide, SA.
Working across all aspects of Maritime Technical Publications, you will be responsible for driving and leading a team of Technical Publications Authors to deliver innovative technical publication solutions and writing activities in accordance with the relevant project procedures and work instructions to achieve project technical, schedule and cost goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team of Technical Publications Authors who will deliver technical writing solutions to the HCF program
  • Participate in designing the architecture required to support the development and delivery of the technical publications.
  • Participate in activities to define and implement Support Engineering objectives.
  • Work closely with external / internal stakeholders and peers within the project to understand their requirements and how the team can collaborate to provide a cohesive solution.
  • Establish effective consultation and communication mechanisms to ensure that key stakeholders are fully engaged and aware of ILS's strategy, plans, products and service offerings.
  • Be able to travel both domestically and internationally to support the Project strategic outcomes.

About YOU

  • Diploma or formal qualification in Technical Writing or equivalent experience.
  • A background in leading teams of technical authors / writers.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Technical Publication Writing / Authoring and/or Drafting.
  • Effective communication skills at various levels of stakeholders to discuss and present business requirements.
  • Understanding of S1000D and / or experience in producing Maritime Technical Publications is highly desirable.
