The Role

As the Facilities Manager for our client's Brisbane headquarters in Southbank, you will be the primary point of contact for all Facilities Management enquiries at HQ. In this role, you will offer assistance to our Regional Facilities Managers and step into their positions during their absence throughout the national portfolio, in addition to collaborating with the Account Manager to drive improvement initiatives on a national scale.

These initiatives encompass a broad spectrum, including but not limited to exploring innovative solutions based on industry best practices, overseeing contract and performance management, participating in procurement exercises, facilitating the onboarding of vendors, managing the mobilization and decommissioning of new sites and taking the lead on national minor works projects.

Your expertise in contract and vendor management, with a specialisation in Soft Services such as cleaning, waste management, and logistics, is crucial as you will be accountable for 50% of our R&M spend to ensure a well-maintained and welcoming environment for our client's staff and guests.

This position offers an exciting opportunity with a wide-ranging and diverse scope, as you will be supporting various assets across Australia with a medium amount of travel required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide FM relief for Regional FM during periods of absence across the national portfolio.
  • Explore & stay abreast of industry best practice & support on the implementation of innovation initiatives on a national scale.
  • Ensure comprehensive cleaning schedules are adhered to by our key contractors to maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the facilities.
  • Through regular site inspections, contract manage, monitor and evaluate the performance of cleaning contractors, ensuring adherence to contracted quality standards & seek ways to constantly improve the efficiencies of the cleaning category.
  • Contracts management, monitor and evaluate the performance of our waste contract & collaborate with the client & contractor to develop strategies to minimize environmental impact & align on client's sustainability targets and reporting.
  • Oversee landscaping, pest control and groundskeeping activities across the portfolio. Evaluate performance with regular site inspections.
  • Develop and manage budgets for all soft services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency. Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all soft services activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in integrated services and as Facilities Manager or similar role, with a focus on soft services, business improvement and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning and maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and demonstrate cost-conscious decision-making.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications in Facilities Management is an advantage.
