About the role:

Box Hill Institute are looking for a number of fixed term or casual TAE Teachers to teach on campus at Box Hill for the following course options:

  • Live virtual classes via Teams on Tuesday and Thursday nights 6-9PM.
  • On campus classes at our Box Hill Campus on Saturdays 9-4PM.

The Cert IV TAE Program at Box Hill is delivered in a range of modes including face to face classes, virtual classes and blended classes depending on the needs of the cohort. Cert IV TAE Teachers at Box Hill Institute are expected to have advanced facilitation skills in face to face and online environments to provide the students with a high quality and engaging learning experience.

The high-quality delivery and assessment is designed to support students to achieve the knowledge and skills required to secure employment as a VET Teacher in TAFE, other Registered Training Organisations or in Industry.

The TAE Teacher is responsible for:

  • Maintain currency of Vocational Education knowledge and skills though connection with National, State and local professional networks and pro-active professional development
  • Maintain and develop skills in learning and assessment technologies
  • Use the Box Hill Institute learning, and assessment materials as agreed within the Box Hill Institute TAE Community of Practice
  • Provide engaging, innovative and evidence-based learning experiences to students
  • Provide timely, clear and meaningful feedback to students to help them build skills to achieve their goals
  • Work within your team and with our Educational Quality team to maintain exemplary compliance practices

About You:

  • TAE40116 or TAE401222 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment AND
  • TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, or
  • TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor, or
  • A higher-level qualification in Adult Education
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role and passion for delivering engaging course material and lessons
  • Experience in planning and researching for the preparation of programs and learning materials and use a wide range of learning resources and assessment tools that would ensure a successful training program
  • Appreciation of administrative requirements required for the coordination of vocation education and training
  • Knowledge and experience utilising student management systems for attendance tracking and results
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to provide support and advice to students and BHI employees of diverse cultures, backgrounds and abilities
