Clough has an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Officer to join the Group Compliance Team in Perth. The Compliance Officer will support, contribute to and directly undertake a range of compliance-related activities, including inspections and investigations, across assigned areas of responsibility in order to support the achievement of regulatory objectives (i.e. anti-corruption, business ethics, privacy). The Compliance officer will be responsible for delivering the corporate guidelines and procedures in Australia and Papua New Guinea. This role is based Perth but travelling is required to visit projects’ sites in Australia.

This role can be either full-time, or as part-time with a job-share arrangement for the right candidates.

Your focus will include:

  • Maintain and develop compliance related policies and procedures to comply with corporate and regulatory requirements.

  • Undertake compliance risk assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of controls of business ongoing compliance with key laws, regulations and policies affecting the businesses.

  • Perform compliance audits at the projects’ site and investigate whistleblowing reports.

  • Provide oversight and compliance guidance to business including requirements on anti-corruption, privacy, local outsourcing, etc.

  • Supervise or perform due diligence on third parties.

  • Attend relevant company committee / advisory groups and present compliance topics.

  • Develop and deliver in conjunction with the Legal Department compliance related training.


What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, law or related field. Advanced degree or certification in compliance or a related field is preferred.

  • 4 or 5 years in a similar role, preferably with a multinational company, or in a leading consulting firm.

  • Knowledge of anti-corruption, privacy regulations, AML and ISO 37001: 2016. Exposure to the construction industry will be highly regarded.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Good time management and prioritization skills.

  • Team player and flexible in a fast-paced environment.

  • Good report writing and presentation skills.

  • Availability to travel about 15% of the time across Australia, with some overseas travel.
