THE OPPORTUNITY
Mechanical Engineer – Station Plant – Callide Power Station
This is a residential role based at Callide Power Station - Monday to Friday (36.25- 40 hours per week).

As a site based Asset Engineer in the Station Engineering Team you will support operational sites by providing professional engineering services, guidance and support to operate and maintain the assets safely and commercially.
The Station Engineering Team supports the following Plant Areas of Coal and Ash Material Handling, Cooling, Supply and Reclaim Water and Facilities Plant.
Key accountabilities include (but not limited to):
- Identifies and understands process safety risks and processes, and prioritises engineering works with this in mind;
- Identifies and mitigates key plant risks to meet both acceptable standards, and business objectives;
- Identifies and implements measures and metrics to monitor, sustain or improve plant area performance, safety, production and reliability;
- Develops, maintains and governs appropriate maintenance and capital strategies for allocated asset areas;
- Assists in asset governance functions to ensure the consistent application of maintenance standards and processes, checking quality and integrity of works;
- Analysing and rectifying root cause of failures and incidents of high priority and critical items;
- Contributing to success of outage and project works, including delivery, governance, scopes, standards, advice and technical direction as required.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role you will have the following education, skills and experience:
- Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience as an Engineer with heavy industry plant.
- RPEQ or actively working through obtaining.
- A solid understanding of Asset Management principles and their application including equipment strategy, business risk management, RCA investigations and plant modifications.
- Experience with material handling equipment, pumps, water management and balance of plant equipment.
- Strong integrity engineering skills in order to manage the plant to be safe and reliable.
