THE OPPORTUNITY

The Control Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration of the control and monitoring system infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring that the power station control and monitoring systems are administered and maintained in accordance with best practice principles, audit recommendations, relevant standards and codes while continuously improving the technical, environmental and commercial performance of the station.
This will include the following:

  • Administration of the Control Systems.
  • Ensure all breakdown, preventative and overhaul control system maintenance is professionally completed as assigned.
  • Ensure that all work undertaken meets established technical standards, compliance and business needs.
  • Investigate and determine the root cause of failures
  • Assist Corporate IT/Business and Asset Improvement/Engineering and Control system personnel in investigations by providing information and recommendations.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for improving plant performance with supporting business case.
  • Provide support in delivering business as usual activities such as incident investigation, insurance risks, Enterprise risks, notification backlog etc
  • Assist/support to develop, update & review procedures to deliver mid to short term strategic asset management plan (SAMP) activities.
  • Assist/support to deliver plant modification processes on any approved plant changes.

This is a permanent, full time position at Kogan Creek Power Station.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree or associate degree (AD) qualification desirable or equivalent experience - Electrical Engineering, IT, Mechatronics or equivalent field.
  • 5 years relevant post qualification OT/IT experience within a power station or similar heavy industry.
  • Virtualization of PC’s, Servers and ghosting.
  • Fault analysis & repair techniques.
  • Experience Configuring Network Switches, Routers and Firewalls.
  • Application of maintenance management principles and plant strategy development with respect to the control system and its equipment.
  • Conceptualisation, design, evaluation and implementation of modifications to improve control system performance and reliability.
  • Ability to write scripts and coding (VBA, Java, BASH etc).
  • Linux/Unix Operating Systems.
  • Use of Office suite of products.
