THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Resource Manager to oversee the supply of coal from the Kogan Mine and the deposition of ash, ensuring the generation requirements of the power station are consistently met. This role will be the primary point of contact for all operational matters related to coal supply and ash disposal, including quality control, environmental compliance, and contract management.

As the Principal Representative for the mining contract, you will play a critical role in ensuring the mining contractor complies with all contractual obligations, particularly in relation to environmental, quality, delivery, and cost requirements. You will also work closely with the contractor to drive continuous improvement processes and ensure optimal performance.

In addition, you will engage with stakeholders on Cultural Heritage matters, working with the Traditional Owners to address concerns related to the Mine and Ash Facilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing coal supply from Kogan Mine, ensuring quality and delivery meet the power station’s generation needs.
  • Overseeing the deposition of ash and managing waste containment facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental obligations.
  • Ensuring adherence to mining contract terms, including environmental and operational responsibilities.
  • Collaborating with Asset and Environment teams to develop, update, and execute ash management, mine plans, and compliance strategies.
  • Managing the cultural heritage aspects in coordination with Traditional Owners, respecting their concerns and ensuring regulatory compliance.

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualifications in resource contract management or a similar, relevant field.
  • Experience in mining operations, particularly open-cut coal mining, is highly advantageous.
  • Proven experience in mine and coal supply management, with a focus on coal quality, cost control, and delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing cultural heritage matters and working with Indigenous stakeholders.
  • Strong contract management and compliance skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage competing demands in a fast-paced and critical operational environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the business.
  • High degree of self-motivation, initiative, and excellent organisational skills.
