Our Energy and Utilities (E&U) business are seeking an experienced Safety professional to join our ever-growing team in a full-time capacity. This Zero Harm Advisor opportunity will be working within the Power Projects space supporting the Molonglo Substation project.

THE ROLE

As a Zero Harm Advisor, you will have the opportunity to guide, support and develop the operational team’s mentality toward Safety to ensure adherence to the Downer Zero Harm standards, legislative requirements and above all else, ensure our people return home safely every day.

Please note although this is a local role, the successful candidate will be required to work a 10/4 roster. A project uplift of 15% is provided on top of the mutually agreed remuneration package.

Some key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Coach Project Managers, Engineers, supervisors and field crews to successfully promote and foster a proactive culture of Zero Harm and environmental safety.
  • Ensure application of Downer Zero Harm standards and legislative requirements to all work activities.
  • Conduct observations, site inspections and audits.
  • Investigate incidents, injuries or breaches of safety and environment procedures.
  • Manage incident reporting within Downer and Client systems.

ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum 3 years of operational safety exposure within a project-based environment or equivalent trade-based experience (Energy, Utilities or Civil industry experience preferred).
  • Prior utilisation of Health Safety & Environment Management systems.
  • Certificate IV in OHS/WHS.
  • Degree Qualification in OHS/WHS (advantageous but not essential).
  • ICAM lead investigator Auditing (advantageous but not essential).
