We are currently recruiting for a LFG Operator Mechanical to be based at our Tamala Park/Red Hill Power Stations. The purpose of the position is to operate and maintain LFG power station plant and equipment in a reliable and cost-efficient manner in order to maximise operating availability. Ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental performance are adhered to.

Key accountabilities

* Maintain a range of reciprocating Caterpillar, Deutz and Cummins engine generators. Caterpillar specialists is a must.

* Maintain and operate Oracle Maintenance Management System.

* Ensure compliance with WHS, Work Cover, DEMIRES and all legislation and regulations are abided by.

* Be responsible and show urgency towards Customer needs in this essential service industry.

* Show initiative and a willingness to undertake ongoing training both internal and external to the Company.

* Well field maintenance and gas monitoring.

* Attend to call outs 24/7.

Person Specification

* Trouble shooting and basic fault-finding skills.

* Knowledge and understanding of process operations in power generation plants.

* Proficiency using computers and monitoring equipment to measure, record and make adjustments within operating parameters.

* Reliable, committed and motivated to achieving Company and team goals and objectives.

* Ability to communicate effectively.

* Ability to work autonomously.

* Be self-motivated and able to work independently.

* Good report writing skills.

* Flexible, work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, commitment and strong communication skills on a daily basis.

Qualifications and Experience

* Mechanical trade certificate. Engine based only

* Experience in Engine Management and Electrical/Mechanical Systems.

* Experience in the Operation and Maintenance of a modern Power Station preferred.

* Experience with Engine Management Control systems an advantage.

* 5 years Industrial safety experience.

* Valid Driver's License.

* Experience with Landfill Gas Power Stations will be highly regarded.

* Previous experience with head changes and valve sets not only on Caterpillar Engines, but any engines will be highly regarded.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo medical and background screening prior to commencement with EDL.
