Reporting to the Operations Manager WCMG, the Operations Supervisor is required to work in a hands-on capacity supervising a small, multi-skilled team responsible for the maintenance of the German Creek and Oaky Creek Power stations.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Lead and motivate a team of multi-skilled Operator/Maintainers involved in all aspects of maintaining the power plant at EDL's German Creek and Oaky Creek Power Stations
  • Drive safety leadership through setting clear expectations for measurable safety behaviors
  • Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations, policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate visible safety leadership by conducting safety conversations on-site, facilitating safety conversations and sharing safety learnings from customers and suppliers
  • Maintain maximum safe production to deliver budgeted production targets.
  • Manage downtime and maintenance in line with asset management strategies, while seeking incremental optimisation opportunities within our existing assets.
  • Manage professional development of team members through PDRs, learning and development plans and performance improvement plans
  • Interface with customers and suppliers to manage relationships in accordance with EDL's SPIRIT values
  • Maintain operational compliance with approvals, legislation and contracts
  • Manage critical and statutory maintenance in line with company policies and procedures using the maintenance management system
  • Assist with development and management of site budgets for direct, indirect and capital costs
  • Maintain and control inventory and acquisitions in line with company policies and procedures
  • Support and comply with Company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company's employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers
  • In addition to the duties set out above, the Operations Supervisor may be expected to perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Company appropriate to the level and responsibility of the position as required.

    Our ideal candidate will have a mechanical or electrical trade background and previous experience in a similar industry, along with:
  • Previous experience in leading and supervising others
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proven time management, prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Previous experience with planning, budgets and delivering small projects would be advantageous
