About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join our Essential Water team in Broken Hill.

The Mechanical Fitter will work within the Mechanical Operations workgroup and be based out of the Broken Hill Field Service Centre. In this role you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and improvement works on mechanical equipment throughout Essential Water’s network. Essential Water’s infrastructure includes pumping stations, water & sewage treatment plants, pipelines and water storage and reticulation systems.

Experience & Skills

  • Proven diagnostic, problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
  • Sound knowledge and experience working with industrial mechanical equipment including various pumps, gearboxes, valves, and machinery.
  • Fabrication, machining and welding experience would be considered highly desirable
  • Experience with isolation and restoration procedures and LOTO practices
  • Capable of using basic computer software and mobile applications

Required Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
  • WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
  • Driver Licence
