As a Technical Business Analyst at Fluent Commerce, you will catalyse positive business outcomes throughout the product lifecycle. From early discovery to launch and beyond, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the features and solutions that empower our clients and partners. As part of a dynamic, cross-functional team, you will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and key stakeholders to turn innovative ideas into impactful reality. You won’t just gather requirements; you will bridge the gap between business and technology, helping to define and deliver cloud-native solutions that transform commerce for global retailers and platforms.
We are looking for a candidate who combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of business needs—someone ready to be a key player in building the future of order management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate deeply: Lead functional and technical design workshops with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that the business’s vision translates seamlessly into technology.
- Critical evaluation: Challenge assumptions and rigorously assess incoming requests to ensure they align with current and future business needs.
- Technical translation: Break down complex business needs into actionable technical requirements, supporting development teams to build solutions that meet those needs.
- Documentation ownership: Produce and maintain high-quality product documentation that evolves with the product, ensuring consistency and clarity.
- Impact-driven: Conduct thorough impact analyses to anticipate and mitigate any potential technical risks or abnormalities in proposed changes.
- Stakeholder engagement: Actively involve clients and partners in product discussions, gathering feedback, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Research & analysis: Regularly engage in customer and competitive research, leveraging data insights to drive continuous product improvement.
- Subject matter expertise: Become an authority on Fluent Order Management, mastering its architecture and extensibility to apply best practices.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:
- Curiosity & critical thinking: You’re a problem solver with an innate drive to explore complex issues from multiple angles.
- Technical fluency: Prior experience as a Technical Business Analyst, with hands-on involvement across the entire product lifecycle in an agile software environment.
- Clear communicator: You’re confident in your ability to present complex technical ideas simply and clearly, whether it’s in a workshop, a presentation, or technical documentation.
- Technical tools expertise: Good understanding of code artifacts such as Java, React, NodeJS, Postman, REST, GraphQL, and JSON.
- Facilitation pro: You’re skilled at leading virtual and in-person requirement workshops, and can abstract technical details for business stakeholders.
- Collaboration tools: Comfortable working with tools like Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence), Google Workspace, and Miro to streamline collaboration and workflow.
Desirable Experience
- Fluent Order Management or similar platforms (Sterling, Manhattan).
- Retail industry knowledge: Experience in the full order lifecycle and omnichannel fulfillment.
- Docs-as-code workflows: Familiarity with modern documentation practices that integrate with code.
