IT Operations Manager
GeelongPort is seeking an IT Operations Manager to join our IT team. The successful candidate should be able to ‘think outside the square’ to support the delivery of IT Services.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the GM of IT the incumbent will be accountable for the delivery of IT Services to GeelongPort, its customers and partners. It will also be responsible for the performance of managed service providers to triage, facilitate and solve technology issues.
We are a Cloud First environment invested in a long-term IT strategy to deliver first class IT services.
The IT Operations Manager will be a key contributor to individual projects which create new or modify existing technology services, especially in designing support arrangements, agreeing Service Levels with GeelongPort stakeholders, participating in vendor contract negotiations to establish technology Service Level Agreements, and working with project teams to improve outcomes wherever appropriate.
Success measures for this role include:
- Management of all policies, standards and processes in relation to IT
- Manage the delivery of a reliable, secure and effective IT Service for GeelongPort
- Support management of Service providers and monitor performance in line with Service Level Agreements
- Management and delivery of IT Projects
About you
Ideally, you will be Tertiary qualified in Information Technology or proven experience in IT. You will require excellent influencing and planning skills and demonstrating an ability to effectively deliver successful outcomes and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
Other key skills and experience will include:
- Experience in IT Operations Delivery
- Proven experience in uplifting overall cyber security to identify and mitigate risk
- Experience across a range of IT Infrastructure technologies modern SDLC processes
- Strong business acumen along with highly developed organisational skills and a proven ability to multitask, prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Growth mindset
- Proven Project Management experience
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to develop relationships, trust and rapport with a range of stakeholders at all levels
