THE ROLE
IGO is an ASX100 clean energy mining and exploration company that has seen significant growth in operations and exploration projects in recent years. We currently have three underground Nickel operations, a 170-person corporate office and a large exploration team working across Australia. We also have a significant indirect interest in the Greenbushes lithium mine through a joint venture.
We are seeking applications from well experienced Purchasing professionals who bring with them extensive experience in the mining or resources sector and the capability to lead a small team. You will support and enable your team to deliver value to the organisation by converting purchase requisitions on time, and competitively procure goods and services using best practice methods. This is a newly created role reporting to the Head of Operations Finance and will be instrumental in fostering relationships between the team and business.
Some key accountabilities will include:
- Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to the procurement team;
- Research, implement and maintain best-practice, standardised processes to support competitive procurement for IGO operations;
- Work closely with the contracts team to put contracts in place where required;
- Actively explore opportunities where IGO operations could support local businesses;
- Analyse inventory usage patterns and recommend changes to meet supply demands on stock, including critical items;
- Complete month-end closing and reporting requirements;
- Maintain clear lines of communication with suppliers and stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and ensure the collective achievement of business goals; and
- Promptly communicate emerging or unresolved issues to the Head of Operations Finance.
YOUR EXPERIENCE

- Relevant qualifications in Business Procurement or Supply Chain Operations;
- Frontline leadership qualifications or demonstrated experience leading a team;
- Substantial experience in a Procurement / Purchasing within the mining or resources sector;
- Comprehensive understanding of Warehouse functions;
- High degree of computer literacy including familiarity with the Netstock and Pronto (or similar);
- An analytical mindset, solid decision making and problem solving capability;
- Valid ‘C’ class manual drivers licence; and
- National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
