We are welcoming applications for the permanent opportunity of Learning Design Specialist to work alongside a highly capable team within a centralised learning and development model.

Reporting to the Manager Training & Compliance, this role will be tasked with the design, development and implementation of innovative learning solutions for IGO that is appropriately tailored to adult learners.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Instructional Design & Methodology: Apply adult learning principles, Meyer’s Multimedia Principles, and the ADDIE framework to design engaging, learner-centric training solutions;
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders to define training needs and objectives, guiding them through the project lifecycle from inception to delivery;
  • Learning Development & Tools: Design and develop interactive training materials using tools such as Articulate Rise, incorporating video, graphics, and interactive activities as needed; and
  • Evaluation & Feedback Mechanisms: Develop feedback tools and metrics to measure training effectiveness and ensure continuous improvement; and
  • Compliance & Learning Outcomes: Ensure training complies with legislative and mandatory requirements.

Your Experience

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of adult learning methodologies, instructional design principles, and cutting-edge tools and technologies. You will also bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Instructional Design (or equivalent work experience);
  • Substantial experience designing and developing adult learning;
  • Expertise in adult learning methodologies, design thinking, and instructional design frameworks;
  • Strong experience with Articulate Rise/Storyline and familiarity with integrating multimedia elements (video, graphics, and interactivity);
  • Proficiency in video and multimedia production for e-learning using Vyond, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and AI Applications;
  • Demonstrated ability to design training for accessibility and cultural inclusivity;
  • Understanding of mandatory training requirements and developing compliance-focused learning programs;
  • Experience or training in User-Experience or Graphic Design (desirable);
  • National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
