This is a 7 month maternity leave contract
We are seeking a Communications Lead (External and Internal) - APAC, to play a key role in supporting Iress’ overall growth and transformation objectives. As part of the Corporate Affairs and Marketing team, you will provide strategic and execution support to key stakeholders. You will contribute to the strategy and own the execution of Iress’ communications strategy in Australia, NZ and Asia - including cultivating and managing close relationships with key media outlets and journalists and identifying and securing relevant opportunities with influencers across corporate, government and industry channels. You will also play a key role in supporting Iress’ leadership team with strategic internal communications support, as well as contributing to Iress’ investor relations communications program.

Some of the awesome things you’ll be involved with:
Responsible for planning and delivery of Iress’ corporate affairs strategy in APAC, including cultivating and managing close relationships with key media outlets and journalists, identifying and securing relevant opportunities with influencers, and planning and overseeing regular meetings between key Iress spokespeople and relevant media, industry, government and corporate bodies.
Manage executive-level relationships, including:
providing counsel and guidance on internal and external communications issues and opportunities, including drafting content and agendas for regular CEO updates and monthly all-employee Town Halls
effectively managing competing priorities across the business, and
providing strategic counsel and guidance on change communications for internal and external stakeholder groups.
Identify and proactively manage reputation risk in APAC. This includes interpreting industry issues and identifying opportunities for Iress to comment or contribute.
Prioritise and manage the flow of news stories to the media by preparing media releases, articles, interviews, op-eds and other content for the media.
Act as a media spokesperson for Iress to manage opportunities, issues and questions as they arise in a timely manner.
Closely monitor media coverage for effectiveness and impact, and provide internal updates for Board reporting.
What you will bring:
Degree qualifications in Business, Marketing, Communications or related degree
Excellent writing and communications skills, with an ability to easily convey complex and technical concepts
Existing relationships with finance industry and technology media and journalists, as well as a confidence in identifying and building new relationships and a strong ability to pitch ideas to media
Internal communications experience
