As a Frontend Enablement Engineer, you will be an integral part of our dynamic and innovative platform engineering team. Your primary responsibility will be to contribute to and maintain an enterprise design system that enables other product teams to create effective user experiences efficiently and effectively . In addition to your extensive knowledge with the core web technologies, your attention to detail, ability to manage stakeholders including engineers, designers and product teams and experience with data-driven methodologies such as usability testing, as well as a passion for front-end engineering using React and front-end performance will help us remove any blockers teams are having in developing usable interfaces.

  • Design Systems: Leverage your expertise and passion in design systems to promote consistency and maintainability in UI components across various products. Work closely with UI designers and product teams to ensure seamless integration and adherence to established design guidelines.

  • Streamline Frontend Development: Utilise data-driven metrics and insights to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and pain points product teams experience when creating applications and features. Propose and implement solutions to enhance development efficiency, enhance user experiences, and improve overall product quality.

  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing, to ensure the reliability and stability of frontend applications.

  • Accessibility Compliance: Advocate for and implement accessibility best practices, ensuring our frontend products are inclusive and usable by all users, regardless of their abilities or devices.

  • Innovation and Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest frontend development trends, tools, and technologies. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the frontend development team.

  • Observability & Performance: Establish robust observability practices to monitor frontend application performance, detect anomalies, and optimise for speed and efficiency.

  • Security and Stability: Contribute to building secure and stable frontend applications, following industry best practices to prevent common vulnerabilities and potential security threats.

What you will bring

  • Advanced knowledge of React and its progressive features, as well as a proven track record of mentoring and facilitating the adoption of industry-leading practices.

  • Proven experience in creating component-driven user interfaces end-to-end, from breaking down requirements to documenting components for use by other engineers.

  • Advanced experience in testing methodologies and tools for frontend applications, including test automation.

  • Proven ability to analyse data and make data-driven decisions to optimise frontend development processes and user experiences.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Proficiency in continuous delivery techniques to move software into production environments.

  • Understanding of observability practices, logging, monitoring, and error tracking for frontend applications.
