Build your career at Iress!

This leadership role drives the delivery and daily management of technology products, systems, and services critical to our Wealth business. You’ll ensure software, infrastructure, and tech services are delivered on time, on budget, and at a high standard to achieve business goals.

Your mission? Design, develop, and manage secure, efficient, fit-for-purpose solutions aligned with global tech strategies and requirements. You'll champion product engineering, infrastructure management, and operational excellence while partnering with Wealth functional and group technology teams.

Accountable for key tech metrics and resource allocation, you’ll lead cohesive, scalable, high-quality software development. As a leader and mentor, you’ll foster communication, collaboration, and alignment to business strategy and Iress culture, ensuring teams thrive together.

Some of the awesome things you’ll be involved with:

  • Leading an engineering team (140+) across AU Wealth, ensuring the quality of all technical outcomes.

  • Design, architect, develop, deploy, and manage the runtime operations, infrastructure, and network for AU Wealth products, software, and services.

  • Collaborate with senior technology leaders to drive engineering excellence, align Group technology capabilities, and maximise client and shareholder benefits.

  • Work closely with BU Technology leaders and Group technology functions to ensure team requirements are met and alignment is achieved across all aspects of software delivery.

  • Partner with product and client-facing teams to align priorities and adjust people resources as business needs evolve.

  • Position Iress as a leading technology company, enhancing the profile of our engineering externally to attract and retain top talent.

  • Inspire a coaching and mentoring culture, while anticipating and adapting to future technology trends.

  • Provide leadership, guidance, direction, and performance management for high-performing, engaged teams.

  • Foster a culture centred on client focus, service excellence, team ownership, and operational efficiency.

What you will bring:

  • People Leadership: a strong leadership background, building and scaling high-performing teams and uplifting talent with a strong emphasis on software engineering.

  • Commercial Acumen: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding commercial outcomes using technology resources and personnel.

  • Industry Focus: In-depth knowledge of the wealth or financial services domain and its technology applications.

  • Strategic and Financial Acumen: Experience in defining and executing technical strategies that align with business goals and drive continuity and growth.

  • Stakeholder Management: Extensive experience in building and maintaining strategic relationships internally and externally, including third-party vendors and partners.
