About the role
The Senior HSE Risk and Assurance Specialist is responsible for providing subject matter expertise in the field of HSE risk to identify opportunities for performance improvement across the SGSPAA group. This role involves analysing relevant data and external factors to design, deliver, and implement Group HSE assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives. The objective is to enhance the HSE Risk and Assurance Framework through proactive data analysis and informed advice.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Champion Enterprise Risk Management framework, driving continuous improvement to effectively manage HSE risk and achieve business objectives.
- Collaborate with Operational teams to identify and mitigate HSE risks through effective control implementation.
- Oversee HSE Risk Register Reviews and treatment plans, providing data-driven recommendations for enhanced HSE performance.
- Establish and monitor core HSE performance measures, KPIs, and risk evaluations using comprehensive data analysis.
- Educate the organization on HSE Risk and Assurance Framework, ensuring the correct application of systems, tools, and processes.
- Partner with stakeholders to develop and implement improvement initiatives and programs.
- Design and develop the annual Group HSE assurance program, including governance, provide insight and support.
- Ensure HSE systems and processes are continuously improved and fit for purpose.
About You
You are an experienced professional with a strong background in HSE risk management, holding relevant tertiary qualifications in Risk Management, OHS/WHS, or Environmental disciplines. Your expertise in project and change management, combined with your skills in risk facilitation, auditing, and data analytics, enables you to deliver informed, strategic recommendations.
- Tertiary qualification in risk management.
- Effective critical thinking abilities for data analysis and continuous improvement.
- Inquisitive and consultative approach.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ensures accountability and attention to detail in all work.
- Lead Auditor qualification with a solid understanding of HSE Management Systems.
